About the Event

The California Black Women's Collective Empowerment Institute in partnership with California State University Dominguez Hills is thrilled to announce our Women's HerStory Month event, CA Black Women’s Having Her Say – Women’s HerStory Month Kickoff Celebration, scheduled for March 1st at 6:00 – 8:00 PM. Join us at California State University Dominguez Hills for an inspiring evening dedicated to celebrating the achievements and leadership of Black women.

Event Highlights:

Special Guests: We are honored to welcome esteemed special guests and CSU Dominguez Hills alumni Assemblywoman Tina McKinnor and Honorable Kristin McGuire to lead our discussions on leadership. 

Assemblywoman Tina McKinnor, a trailblazer in California politics, will share her insights and experiences on breaking barriers and advocating for change. Honorable Kristin McGuire, a distinguished leader who is leading the fight on student loan debt forgiveness, will offer her perspectives on leadership locally and nationally. 

Panel Discussion on Leadership: Our special guests will engage in a dynamic panel discussion moderated by leading voices in the community. They will explore topics such as the importance of representation, strategies for effective leadership, and the role of Black women in shaping our collective future. They will be joined by current CSU Dominguez Hills students to add their voice to the conversation. Regina Wilson, California Black Media, will serve as the moderator.

Networking Opportunities: Connect with fellow attendees, community leaders, and advocates during our networking session. Share experiences, exchange ideas, and forge meaningful connections with like-minded individuals committed to empowering Black women.

Celebrating Women's History: As we kick off Women's History Month, we will reflect on the achievements and contributions of Black women throughout history. From trailblazing activists and entrepreneurs to visionary leaders and changemakers, we will celebrate the resilience, strength, and resilience of Black women who have shaped our past and inspire our future.
